Management Analysis
Transforming businesses from obstacles to prosperity

Management Analysis As business becomes more complex, firms are continually faced with new challenges. They increasingly rely on management analysts to help them remain competitive amidst these changes. Management analysts analyze and propose ways to improve an organization's structure, efficiency, or profits.
Business owners use the discipline of Management Analysis for a variety of reasons. Some lack the internal resources needed to handle a project, while others need this expertise to determine what resources will be required and what problems may be encountered if they pursue a particular opportunity. BMCS proposals include the estimated cost and scope of the project, staffing requirements, and a completion deadline.
After obtaining an assignment or contract, BMCS will first define the nature and extent of the problem that they have been asked to solve. During this phase, we analyze relevant data—which may include annual revenues, employment, or expenditures—and interview managers and employees while observing their operations. BMCS then develops solutions to the problem. While preparing our recommendations, we take into account the nature of the organization, the relationship it has with others in the industry, and its internal organization and culture. Building and solving mathematical models, such as one that shows how inventory levels affect costs and product delivery times, often gain insight into the problem.
Once we have decided on a course of action, BMCS reports our findings and recommendations to the client. Our suggestions are always submitted in writing, but oral presentations regarding findings are also common. For some projects, BMCS may be retained to help implement our suggestions.
BMCS will launch a model to increase efficiency and worker productivity and to control costs. For example, if a company is planning to purchase assets, it must first determine which type to buy, given its budget and utilization needs. In this case, BMCS would assess the prices and characteristics of proposed equipment, and determine which one(s) best meet the client’s needs. BMCS may manage contracts for a wide range of goods and services to ensure quality performance and to prevent cost overruns.
BMCS usually divides our time between our office and the client's site. In either situation, much of our time is spent where needed on and off-site. Travel, if required, is always a part of the proposal. Uncompensated overtime is common, especially when project deadlines are approaching.
Summary:
While every analysis is unique to the organization under impact, there are logical steps to take to handle and avoid the confusion of how to act. Business Management Counseling Services can aid your company or organization prior and during the time of management analysis. We highly recommend a pro-active approach of preparedness, however when a pro-active plan does not exist we can facilitate the least amount of collateral damage to the event.
